"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer."
- Albert Camus
I don't really have any deep words or metaphors for this series, other than to say the autumn this year has resonated with me on some personal level. The final burst of everything nature has to offer, the releasing of things dead and dying, and a sort of grace that comes with rest. I always seem to be in a state of overcoming myself- conquering old patterns and habits, doubts... accepting and appreciating the experience of my yesterdays.
These rings were made with sincere joy for the journey I'm on and all I'm working to become, and understanding that on that path there will be seasons of stillness and quiet rebuilding along the way.
The stones in this series were chosen for their vivid hues and depth, the way they transmit light, and their quality. Sterling silver bands are comprised of four layers, torched and hammered by hand into shape, and accented with bezels and/or freckles of 18k gold.
This particular ring features a rosecut Andesine stone, a deep translucent red with bits of blue flash.
Here's to savoring the moment, to taking what we need from this season and leaving the rest.
Much love to you.
