These were made by piercing a design into metal. The scraps of the piercing were melted down with additional sterling remnants and rolled into sheet. The pierced design was then imprinted with a textured bit of organic material and reshaped to sit flat. Finally, the rolled sheet was cut in two and pressed with the textured piercing to create mirroring images. These images were pierced out, formed, textured again on the reverse side, and suspended from handmade wires.
They are made and remade of themselves through numerous steps, each pair celebrating a mark that was made, a sequence of trust and process and intention, and an end result that collects every mean from which it was manifested.

“Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that's why I made works of art. " ―
